Farming is vital in Colombia, especially in the coffee zone where crops like coffee, sugar, and fruits are essential. After World War II, surplus Willys vehicles became crucial in navigating Colombia's challenging terrain and have since become cultural icons.
Each year, farmers celebrate this legacy with the Yipao or Jeep parades in Quindio, where they showcase their heavily-loaded Willys in competitions for categories like "most goods carried" and "best arranged cargo." Since its inception in 1988, the Calarca parade gained a Guinness World Record in 2006 for being the longest Jeep parade, featuring over 370 vehicles.
